It’s fall, so I figured I’d better add a bit of life to this site.
Summer was…er…a mixed bag. In contrast to the prior post, sales dropped way off in Sept, and while they have increased since then, I figure it won’t be cruisin’ properly until after the election. Election years are a real spikey thing. First there’s the breath-holding & economic tanking (which everyone forgets happens every time there can’t be an incumbent after the election [although this time is unarguably worse than when Clinton had to step aside]). Then, after the election, half or more of the people are glad that whoever wins, did win, so they celebrate–by buying like mad!
So I’m sitting here waiting, with my merchandise…
On a brighter note, I finally bought 50 daffs (and some tulips) for myself AND got them planted. Usually I buy bulbs with the intention of planting them, but end up selling them. Not just for the money, but because planting is w*rk! So it will be nice in the spring to see a new daff patch, bordered by some tulips.
I half-expect that next spring I’ll be thinking, “I should have put those up for sale…”

When I got my point-and-click digital camera, it was top of the line for its class. It’s funny how now, when I go into a store that sells cameras, mine looks like a minibrick in comparison to the latest models! Oh well…obsolescence…
In any case, it takes fine pictures. One of my best pictures is the one I took of my spirea bush in full bloom back in 2002:
The problem with this camera, is that it cannot do proper macro shots. My dream camera is one that can get close enough to see the pollen grains in a tiny flower–and take a clear picture of the intricate beauty! I’ve always wanted to be able to make pictures like that. Of course, such a lens is a lot more expensive than my current camera, but someday I’m sure I’ll break down and buy macro camera of my dreams.
One of the great things about any digital camera is the ease of photomanipulation. Notice how few weeds there are in that picture? Shhhh…
On this page of scrapbook page ideas, they mention making a calendar. No more looking in vain for a calendar with proper flower pictures if I make my own!

It’s rainy and dreary today, and expected to keep on raining all day.
Which is good. It means I won’t have to go out and plant! Or water!
That said, I’m not going to turn this into a do-nothing day like I usually would. I’m going to keep at that affiliate marketing sales site I redesigned yesterday.
I got the theme onto it, after messing with several different ones, which took longer than I expected. Red isn’t a good color for selling stuff, but when I tried to blue-en the template, it looked pretty bad, so I ended up with red for now anyway. At least with the new blog format, if I see a nicer-looking template available, I can put it on without having to redo the whole site!
In any case, today I need to write more sales pages. It should be interesting to see how traffic is affected.

As usual, I’ve only just started planting my garden. That’s because I’m usually asleep during the day, so I have to wait until one of the few times I’m not, to do it.
But it’s also w*rk. Labor. Effort. Or whatever euphemism for it you want to use. The fact is, I’d rather hire it done! But, the only one I know who plants annuals as a j*b, is the same nut I used to do empl*yment with years ago. And I don’t want to hire her!
So, that leaves me.
I know that when I get it all done, and the plants establish themselves, I’ll be glad I bothered. But I sure wish they could plant themselves…
